Why am I so passionate about busting myths and habit based coaching?

My Story….

 

I was once VERY confused about nutrition. I had been through it all: low fat, low carb, "clean eating," time-restricted eating and then bingeing, and so forth. I had disordered eating habits and when I hired coaches, they gave me meal plans but they couldn't explain the "why" of what they wanted me to eat. They typically listed foods I disliked in portions that made no sense and I couldn't stick to. I was frustrated and thought there was something wrong with me. I just wanted to know what the “best diet” was!

 

As a personal trainer, I decided I wanted to find out the "secret to nutrition" to help my clients get better results. Since none of my nutrition coaches were able to explain it to me, I decided to learn for myself. I vowed to always be able to explain the "whys" to my clients. 

 

I became a certified Level 2 coach through Precision Nutrition and my life has never been the same. All the fad diets and nutrition myths I grew up with - was fed on social media or by past coaches - have been busted.

 

For years, I had been scared of food, scared of gaining weight, and worried I was always eating the “wrong” things. I was also a binge eater and had many other disordered habits. Through a Deep Health habit transformation, I'm no longer scared of food, gaining weight or even eating the wrong things. 

 

Rather than being controlled by my fears, I'm now able to use my new habits to help me reach my personal goals as a natural bodybuilder (which has periods of gaining weight and periods of fat loss). I'm now eating what I love and feeling great about my relationship with food!

 

I’m here to tell you, there is no perfect diet, no secret or magic foods. You CAN eat what you love and still get into great shape. The key is developing your ability to be mindful about what you’re eating and why you're eating it. It's about becoming aware of your hunger and fullness cues and then figuring out what foods make you feel your best.
